Here at The Well we call our children’s ministry Droplets. Droplets exists to serve our children. We are not a babysitting service but instead look at our time with the kids as a chance to get to partner with parents in “Train(ing) up a child in the way he should go, aAnd when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
We believe the Lord does and can speak to our children. We desire to encourage them to listen to their Heavenly Father and learn His ways. We foster this by teaching foundational truths, using biblical language, teaching, demonstrating, and partaking in worship and prayer, and creating an environment where children can freely grow in their walk with Christ.
“What a typical sunday looks like”
A typical Sunday morning in Droplets starts at 9:45 AM when children begin coming into our building. Verified servers will assist families in checking-in their children before parents/guardians go to the main worship service. Parents are also encouraged and welcomed to stay in the Droplets building with us if they would like to experience the Droplets’ service! We have times of free play, worship, interactive teaching and snack before service ends. Parents are then asked to return to the Droplets building to pick-up their child(ren).
Our youngest children’s curriculum is based off of 16 foundational questions and answers that we study and teach throughout the year. The hope is that these questions and answers will help to establish foundational knowledge of the Christian faith at an early age. In our culture, so many young adults leave their childhood faith when they begin to experience the world and are encountered with questions that they do not know how to answer. We hope to partner with the parents by teaching and providing family resources to start asking these questions at an early age and establishing Biblical answers.
Our older children’s curriculum is centered on establishing a basic knowledge of the Bible. We hope children will leave this program knowing the books of the bible, how to find chapters and verses, and how to apply scripture to their lives. We ultimately cannot do all of this only on Sunday morning. Therefore, we provide parent resources so that parents can review and walk with their children each week as they develop a stronger Bible knowledge. Our desire is that children feel comfortable with studying the Bible so that they may seek God’s word in their personal walk with Him. We teach Bible basics through interactive study, sword drills, scripture memorization, and Bible games.
For interested volunteers
We are so thankful for people with servant hearts and especially those who want to teach and serve the youngest among us!! We need servers for nursery, 2-5 year olds and 6-10 year olds. If you are interested in serving in our children’s ministry, stop by and talk with one of the servers on Sunday morning. We require all our Droplets’ volunteers to fill out a volunteer application and have a background check. Once these are completed a team member will show you the ropes and get your plugged into loving and serving our children!
