The Well Haywood exists for the sole purpose to create disciples of Jesus Christ who are radically in love with their creator. We believe that to be a disciple of Jesus is to order your life around three goals: be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. Our dream is that as we live this way, our lives, our communities, and our county, will be transformed.
We believe the Church is not another sub-culture, but the making of a new humanity. It’s not a building or a weekend activity, but a people. We want to partner with God in his relentless pursuit to put the world to rights. Our prayer is as Jesus prayed, that God’s will would be done in Haywood County as it is in Heaven.
As a church, we hold to the following beliefs:
The Bible is the living inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God for the Christian faith. ( John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19; John 10:30-33, 15:26; Rom. 8:9; Col. 1:15, 2:9; Heb. 1:2-3
GOD THE SON
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory. (The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John; Heb. 4:15, 9:26-28; 1 Pet. 2:22; Rom. 3:21-26; Acts 7:56; Col. 3:1; 1 Cor. 15; Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 5:15-17)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling every Christian is able to live a godly life. (John Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:1-17; Gal. 5:16-25)
That all people are lost sinners and must turn to Christ in saving faith and repentance for regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (John 3:3-8, 16-21; Acts 4:12; Rom. 3:21-26, 6:23; Eph. 2:1-10)
In the resurrection of both those who believe in Jesus and those who do not believe: those believing to eternal life with Christ and those unbelieving to eternal punishment in hell. (Matt. 25; John 6:40; 1 Cor. 15; Rev. 20:11-15)
